google bar/add-on hell

In the last 2 days my google toolbar disappeared and my add-ons are coming up
as disabled even though they are all enabled.I cannot access some sites,or
watch video on the net,i cannot print documents from the net because the
pop-up blocker keeps going ape and stops the printing.I reinstalled google
but it didnt help so i uninstalled it again.I have tried posting 2 questions
before and it would not allow me to send them through.I do not have sp2
installed. no other programs have been installed other than the microsoft
updates.whats happening.thanks.

After checking my fire wall taffic i noticed my computer had been
communicating with SwHelper.This happened to be around the time i had all the
problems.Could this have caused the problems?I just wanted to check before
installing svc pk 2 as i've read a bit of bad feed back about it.
