Re: SP3 download preparations
Microsoft were suffering an extremly bad press before SP2 because their operating system was so vulnerable to exploitation by malware. They had to put very considerable resources over the next 4 years to eliminate these weaknesses in the operating system. That is not to say the weaknesses should not have been there in the first place. However, they had to take action and they did. It is foolish to criticise them for trying to put matters right, which is how I interpret your post. -- Hope this helps.
