Taskbar not holding minimized url pages
Windows XP SP2, with IE6.
Don't know if this is a Windows or a browser problem, but thought I should post here first. If I have a webpage minimized on the taskbar and then open a second url, the minimized url disappears from the taskbar; likewise if I minimize the second url to the taskbar, the first minimized url disappears also, and is replaced by the second url. If the second minimized is a file or folder from the hard drive, then the problem doesn't occur, in other words words, only a second webpage (url) will cause the problem. I've looked all over for the setting that controls this, but can't find it. Any pointers/fixes will be appreciated. Thanks, George |

Any pointers/fixes will be appreciated. Are these pages in separate IE windows or on tabs in the same IE window? If they're on tabs this is expected behavior. -- Frank Saunders MS-MVP IE,OE/WM Do not reply with email |

Re: Taskbar not holding minimized url pages
Frank,
These were in separate IE windows (completely different websites), but I found the setting: IE > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > Browsing > uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" Regards, George "Frank Saunders MS-MVP IE,OE/WM" <> wrote in message news:... > "George" <> wrote in message > news:.gbl... >> Windows XP SP2, with IE6. >> >> Don't know if this is a Windows or a browser problem, but >> thought I should post here first. >> >> If I have a webpage minimized on the taskbar and then open a >> second url, the minimized url disappears from the taskbar; >> likewise if I minimize the second url to the taskbar, the first >> minimized url disappears also, and is replaced by the second >> url. >> >> If the second minimized is a file or folder from the hard >> drive, then the problem doesn't occur, in other words words, >> only a second webpage (url) will cause the problem. >> >> I've looked all over for the setting that controls this, but >> can't find it.
