double click error

I'm having trouble with my mouse when selecting icons on the desktop.
Whenever I double-click the icon to open it, it instead copies the icon. The
only way I can open the program [or file] is to right click and open it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hello,

If these are shortcuts (links to programs), try this:
