SP3 Help

I just rec'd the latest service pack install and it is asking me to insert my
Microsoft Office with FrontPage CD... I can't find it and cancel the install.
BUT, now I can't open Excel without the same prompt appearing. What is
happening and how do I fix this?

Re: SP3 Help

You're going to need your cd.
You might want to post in the office update newsgroup.

When you say you RECEIVED the latest service pack, what do you mean? (There
are bogus emails around that say they have the latest updates...)

Re: SP3 Help

1. Go to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...1-EB966BCDFB5E

2. Scroll down to and follow the instructions under "To install SP3 without
the original Office XP CD".

3. You want to download/install the file named
'OfficeXpSp3-kb832671-fullfile-enu.exe' (57.5MB).

I have the same problem. I can't find the disc anywhere and that little yellow shield is getting very annoying. I can't finish installing the updates without the prompt coming up and can't open my excel without the prompt.

As WHAT?

Please QUOTE the post you are replying to - this is NOT a forum, OR a
chatroom.

Re: SP3 Help

Whatever you are replying to, it is too old to be seen by anyone using a
newsreader. Probably most or all people that could help are using a
newsreader, therefore it is a waste of everyone's time to reply in this
manner.

The best solution is to create a new thread and fully describe your
situation in it. Usually when people hijack (as here) another thread, they
assume the other thread describes their situation adequately, but often the
two problems are two different problems and the second (this) problem
requires a thorough explanation.

Re: SP3 Help

Sam

Most likely needs to post to an Office newsgroup.
microsoft.public.officeupdate

SP3 is a problem area currently being discussed.
