BOLD, Italic & Underlining ...

Hi,
when I want to either Bold, Italic, Underline, change font size or location
of text or a word, I highlight the chosen text and then click bold for
example.

The problems is that not only the word/text I have highlighted becomes bold
- the whole document does... and all the text.

So I then have to use the back button to "undo".

Now, my work requires me to edit text frequently and it is driving me
completely crazy.

Any suggestions to Why this is happening and WHAT TO DO to make it stop.

Grateful for all help.

You didn't specify the name of the Text Editing software you are currently
using for writing your documents.

In what program are you doing this? You will get answers from experts in
that particular program by posting to a newsgroup for it. This one is
for the Windows XP operating system.

Here is list of all the MS newsgroups:

http://aumha.org/nntp.htm

Here are some newsgroups for MS Word and for MS Works on the off-chance
one of them is what you are using:

microsoft.public.word.newusers
microsoft.public.word.general
microsoft.public.works.win

When you post, make sure you include the version of the program (ex. MS
Word 2003) and whether this is a new problem. If this is a new problem,
answer The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the
time things worked and the time they didn't? and include that in your post.

This is not a Windows XP issue, but an issue with whatever word
processing software you are using. You are much more likely to get the
help you need if you ask your question in a newsgroup devoted to that
word processor.

Be sure to tell them exactly what version of the word processor you
are using.
