Re: Apply security patches on a WinXP RIS image
When we do this, all we do is deploy the image to a box and get the updates
installed onto it. At this point then I can make any changes to the box, like add or remove software that has changed or even make customizations to the desktop that gets deployed. At them point all I do is create a new image of the box and delete the old one. Now I have a new image with up to date patches. We try to do this once a quarter to keep from having to many patches to install. I hope this helps! --------- Wade Preston Baldwin Filters "Patch WinXP RIS image" <Patch WinXP RIS > wrote in message news:... > Hi, > > I've been using RIS to deploy Windows XP on my network since a few years. > I've always upgraded the image with the current service pack to avoid > having > a lot of security patches to install after the Windows installation. > > As you all know, there is now tons of updates to install even if the RIS > image has SP2 integrated into it.
