Office 2007 Installation Problem

When I try to install Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition on my PC
everything is OK till I get a pop-up window
which states the following "Setup cannot find
Proofing.en-us\Proof.fr\Proof.cab.Please select valid installation source
and click OK."Proof.cab file is neither corrupted nor unreadable but still I
get this message.I'm using Windows XP SP2.Any help is highly appreciated.

Re: Office 2007 Installation Problem

I had the exact same problem after I formatted my drive and installed a
new version of XP. The first time I got the error message containing
the above. However, I got it to work the first time previously.
Subsequently, here's what I did:

-installed newest version of Java
-Got the lastest updates for XP SP2 (and I mean all of them, need to
custom install some of them)
-If your version of windows is not legit, you'll need to get windows
geniune advantage to validate your key.
-gave it another whirl and worked like a charm.

There are people posting messages on some sites indicating that the
check digits were wrong on some of the CDs and suggested that people DL
another one. (WELL MY THOUGHTS WERE THAT IF IT WORKED THE FIRST TIME,
THERE IS NO **** REASON WHY IT CAN'T WORK AGAIN.... CDS DON'T CHANGE!)
I believe that one of the windows updates corrected this problem, that's
why it worked before.

Cheers!
