missing or corrupt files
When I tried to turn my computer, I am getting the following messege:
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: Windows\system32\config\system you can attempt to reapair this fiel by starting windows setup using the original set up CD-ROM . Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair." I followed the steps, nothing is happening while i do this and I keep on getting the same message over and over agin. The reinstallation CD is-windows XP home edition includes service pack 2. I would really appreciate if you could helpme with this problem Thanks SC |

Re: missing or corrupt files
This very concept was explained to you less than a week ago. Perhaps you
should have your memory tested, as it seems to be failing. mikeyhsd wrote: > S T U P I D. > pleas explain to the OP how he is supposed to follow your suggestions when the computer will not boot. > > > > mikeyhsd@comcast.net > > > > "Rock" <Rock@nospam.net> wrote in message news:%23UdYPr7nHHA.4428@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > "sam" wrote > > When I tried to turn my computer, I am getting the following messege: > > > > "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: > > Windows\system32\config\system > > you can attempt to reapair this fiel by starting windows setup using the > > original set up CD-ROM .
