Folder Customization: Non-existant images showing up

In my desktop/My Documents folder, some of the folder icons in thumbnail or
filmstrip view have pictures I cannot find on my hard drive. Normally this
wouldn't be a problem, but the pictures are all nudes from a folder which has
long been deleted. Even the My Music folder has a picture showing up and
that folder is not customizable. Where are the images coming from? Changing
the picture manually is okay for the most part, except for My Music, but if
restore default is selected I get a nude again.

That's strange because when deleting a folder, the thumbnail cache
(thumbs.db) will be deleted as well. You can disable that cache via
Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Do not cache Thumbnails >
tick.

See above. After applying that setting, search for "thumbs.db" files and
delete them.

LOL! If she's pretty, leave it as is.
