(i know this is not necessary but anyway here it is ..(Intel Pentium dual CPU E22oo @ 2.20GHz, 2GB Ram NVIDIA nForce 610i)

when something is missed out i realize the real use of it....:(

Clipboard service is only used during remote desktop it has nothing to do with copy and pasting on a local Machine.

Other than that try scanning for viruses and malware you could be infected.

Download and install Malwarebytes Malwarebytes

Install it update it then run a full scan.

I agree with shawnpb, it's possible that you could have a virus. You could do a system restore and see if it works again, or try a Windows Update to see if your copy/paste function works following that. I have had this problem on XP before, but it was remedied by simply restarting. Maybe one of these could be of some use.

well, if all the suggestions didn't work, then use the final answer:
REINSTALL WINDOWS!!!!
-
new year, new install.

I Agree with wcogent, istead of faffing around trying to get it done, just reinstalll Windows from the orginal disc you have(Not the recovery discs), but if you do not have a Windows 7 disc you may have to invest around £70($100-$130) to reinstall Windows.

Good Luck.

I agree here all though I believe reinstalling Windows is the last resort I think reinstalling Windows is the best bet.

I think like the others said your Windows installation is corrupted.
