Also yellow exclamation point on microsoft teredo tunneling adapter.
Have tried just about everything suggested by windows such as reinstalling driver even though windows said driver up to date (just in case), scanned for hardware changes; there is also yellow exclamation point on audio device. Nothing seems to work. No windows sound at all. External speakers are ok.

I am not sure but I wouldn't know how to fix it without hiring a tech.
By the way it's a HP Compaq CQ5210F

Click Start->Run, enter: services.msc, scroll to Windows Audio, right click Properties.
> Verify StartupType=Automatic and Status=Started

it says automatic and started.
Also what do you think of external sound adapters or cards. Would that help?
