What email client were these files created in, and what OS are you using?

http://filext.com/file-extension/MBOX

That is a guess since you never bothered to mention WHAT e-mail client
and OS was used to generate the .mbox files. Only you know if these are
proprietary formatted files or just plain-text. If plain-text and if
they are in tabular format, like comma-, space-, or tab-delimited
format, then you could try to import them into OE but how successful
depends on whether or not the fields in each record (line) are in the
correct order.

Try the Eudora import. Eudora uses MBOX format.

Hi,
I want to tell you that Outlook stores the data in PST format and does not provide any method to import MBOX file in Outlook. If you want to try manual process then I want to suggest use small size of mailbox. Because this method is not perfect for MBOX to PST Conversion and you will need an extra email client.
Best method is to use MBOX to PST Converter to convert MBOX file in PST file format. I recommend two solution that can easily migrate your data to Outlook.
  • MailsDaddy MBOX to PST Converter
  • SysBud MBOX to PST Converter

Both solutions are remarkable to export MBOX to PST format. You can also try the demo version free and convert first 20 emails from each folder.

Importing from MBOX to PST manually is quite difficult for a user because it needs some extra resources to complete the conversion process. So here, I recommend you try any third-party solution available in the market. As per my experience, I found two best software for MBOX to PST conversion
One is QuickMigrations for MBOX to PST and another is MailsSoftware MBOX to PST Converter tool.
You can use any one form it for a complete and 100% accurate MBOX to PST Conversion.
