Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial - PART 2 ( Installation)

We discussed the initial steps of Windows 7 installation in the first part of this tutorial. In this session the instillation proceeds though the series of screen shots which involves a reboot. No user interaction is required for this Part.

The PART 3 of installation shows the basic setup like entering the Serial Key, setting up the computer name and user account, Timezone selection etc.

Re: Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial - PART 2 ( Installation)

Hi, thanks for the great post!

For some reason, my installation never gets to the "Windows is preparing for first use". Instead, the screen becomes black with a blue windows themed line at the top. I can't see my mouse unless it's rolled over that line. I have a suspicion that what I am seeing is the very bottom of the entire user setup screen. Do you know if this is a graphics card problem or a problem with the burned disk?

Thanks! Any help is appreciated!

which build version did you actually try ? it might be a graphics driver bug. if the setup completes successfully, I guess there's nothing much to worry.

Re: Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial - PART 2 ( Installation)

I used the 7000 build downloaded from microsoft. Is there anyway for me to check if the setup was finished correctly? I can tell that my newly partitioned drive has used up around 9gig of space.

I heard that nvidia released drivers for win7. How can I install them if I can't even login win7?

Re: Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial - PART 2 ( Installation)

I tried mounting the iso with Virtual Clone Drive and I got the same result. So I'm pretty sure that its not the iso that was corrupted. If I try safe mode, it doesn't work either, it freezes up.
