I went out of town about two weeks ago and back into the country through JFK. I bought time on their Boingo system with my netbook, and so did my husband on his laptop. When we got home we are having the worst luck staying connected to our router. We stay on and then off we go. It appears we are still on, we are using XP and the icon in the systray shows we are connected, but we are not. I have to left click the router connection and repair constantly.
I removed the Boingo program from my computer (using my control panel) but it still disconnects.
I am not entirely sure it's a Boingo problem but it started to happen when we put Boingo on our computers. There is also a circumstance that Time-Warner put in fiber-optic cable in our area for their service (which we don't subscribe to).
It is all very curious. Does anyone have any ideas about what is causing this disconnect? What can be done about it? Thank you.
