What is too speed AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2GHz (19.2GHz Total) or core i7?

Is Best nvidia GTX540?

If you can afford it, go with a core-i7 quad. More reliable and more tolerant of thermal issues. DO NOT get a Gulfstream processor (hex-core) until Intel does at least one revision on the silicon. Right now they have problems, like they are a bit delicate. And if you DO get one, don't try to OC it. A few tenths of a volt too much will kill it.

I've always had problems with AMD, that's why I'd say Intel.

Never had a prob with AMD, but with Intel, that's another story, i've always found that Intels Loose their speed. eg. Back when i had a Pentium 4 3.06GHz and an Athlon 64 3.1GHz for The Athlon Slowed to just 3.0GHz
and the P4 Slowed to 2.1GHz and then died.

I would recommend Core i7 Quad (Core i7-975 XE or 965 XE ) and if you can't afford that - Phenom II Quad. Better stay away from those Hexacores.

Btw. Phenom II X6 1100T can't even match to Core i7-860 in most of the available test results.
