WMI Provider

I have been receiving the following message after I access Windows Mail.

WMI PROVIDER HOST STOPPED WORKING AND WAS CLOSED.
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will
notify you if a solution is available.

Needless to say Windows has never responded with a solution or, hint as to
what is causing this action.

Would appreciate some help in getting this resolved.

Thanks.

Open Control Panel>select Problem Reports and Solutions>check for new
solutions.
Your error is one of many that is seen by many people.

Thanks Mac,
I did what you said and, it appears that the problem is with "McAfee Spam
Killer". After checking on the McAfee's website, I find that this has been an
ongoing problem with McAfee and, that they are working on a solution. (Seems
that they have working of it for quite a while)

Again, thanks.

I can only suggest that you remove McAfee from your system before it
possibly corrupts your mail store?

Get a free AV application from the web, I use AVG free, others use Avast
free.
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Disable any email scan options.

Also you might need this tool to remove McAfee:

Thanks Steve,
I did what you said and, determined that the problem is being caused by
McAfee Spam Killer and, further found that it has been an ongoing problem
with McAfee. They seem to continue saying that they are working on the
problem, but yet have found the solution.

Again, thanks for your help

McAfee (and Norton) always have compatibility problems with Windows.
There is only one solution that provides 100% relief.

NOD32, while not cheap, works well with Vista.

Avast! is free and does everything a home user needs.
With any anti-virus, do a Custom install and don't install Email Scanning.
It provides absolutely no additional protection and causes problems. It's
just a marketing gimmick.
