![]() Can I upgrade from Windows Me to XP and keep all the other programs I have on
my home computer without having to reload them? Someone told me I would have to do a complete reformat with the XP. I am hoping they are wrong. Thank you, Steven Sponsored Links |

![]() The Q should be posted to a winxp group, its nothing to do with the office
group you posted to Apart from that, does your PC's hardware support winxp? ![]() The answer is a definite maybe. Start by making a list of all the
programs you are concerned about, and then you can ask if they will work in a group for XP. ![]() I agree with Bob - you can never really be certain how ME to anything upgrade
will perform. I'd take an inventory of all applications and make sure you can reinstall them(ie. have the media or file to reinstall) and backup your data to an external source. Then if you do really have to do a fresh installation you won't have to worry to much more and it'll just be nicer to have all that laid out already. To my recollection Windows XP does have a compatability wizard that you can run and I think it also verifies what will work under XP or not. "Bob I" wrote: > The answer is a definite maybe.
