| I have a Windows Terminal Server 2003 with Citrix Metaframe XP. I am from old school..if it aint broke..dont fix it so running Windows updates has not been a priority on this server. I find myself forced to upgrade from IE 6 to IE 7. Anything special i need to know when upgrading to IE 7? Should i put the server in to Install mode before i run any Windows updates which would include IE 7?? Sponsored Links |

| Sponsored Links Interesting.... I would consider a server accessed by multiple users one that I would want to keep up to date... Do you keep up to date on Citrix fix packs and hot fixes? These are *REALLY* important. I doubt that there are many new one recently since MetaFrame XP is really old... If you are upgrading IE7 why not go to IE8? It's much better, stable and secure than IE7. It's not necessary to put the server in install mode for WU. I would suggest the following: 1) put the server in install mode 2) manually install IE8 from MS. If it wants a reboot, put the server in execute mode first. 3) If you had to reboot, out the server in install mode 4) Open IE8 and set defaults (search engine and web site scan) 5) Put the server in execute mode 6) Run Windows update to get the latest IE updates. IMNSHO, You really should install all the updates that are eligible for the server. On 3/12/2010 3:43 PM, Scott wrote: > I have a Windows Terminal Server 2003 with Citrix Metaframe XP.
